The mountain men carried a pistol because one shot was never a plan. That thinking still holds.
Most sidearms today are built for volume, and this one is built for the single shot that has to land.
A Trigger With Two Minds: The double set trigger fires set or unset. Set it for a light, careful press at the range, or leave it unset when the shot has to come now.
Sights That Answer to You: The primitive-style rear sight adjusts for consistent shot placement, paired with a blade front. You level the blade in the notch, hold on the mark, and send the ball.
Heritage in the Hand: An octagonal barrel and hardwood stock follow the lines of the sidearms early trappers and traders carried as a dependable backup. It looks at home beside a long rifle, because that is where it came from.
Compact and Handy: A 9.75 inch barrel and 15.5 inch overall length keep it close. It rides along without getting in the way of the rifle.
Percussion Simplicity: Cap, powder, and a .50 caliber ball. Percussion ignition keeps the routine short and the shot deliberate.
Carry the backup the old trappers carried, and shoot it like you mean it.
