Purple Haze – Modern Attractor Mayfly Dry Fly

Purple Haze – Modern Attractor Mayfly Dry Fly
Finatics Fly Company

The Purple Haze is a modern attractor dry fly that blends the proven silhouette of a classic Adams-style mayfly with a subtle purple body that trout respond to when standard patterns fall short. Designed to suggest a wide range of mayflies without matching any single species, this fly excels as a searching pattern during mixed or unclear hatch activity.

The purple body adds just enough contrast to stand out in broken light and variable water conditions, while the traditional hackle and wing profile maintain a natural footprint trout trust. This balance makes the Purple Haze especially effective in riffles, seams, and transitional water where fish are opportunistic but selective.

When trout ignore textbook mayfly imitations, the Purple Haze often turns lookers into eaters.

Why it works:

• Subtle purple body triggers strikes without spooking fish

• Adams-style profile imitates a wide range of mayflies

• Excellent searching pattern during mixed hatch conditions

• Performs well in riffles, seams, and moderate current

• Barbed hook for solid hook sets

A confidence dry fly that belongs in every trout box.
