Carbon builds up where you cannot see it. It shows itself when the gun stops running.
Most shooters wipe down what is easy to reach, while careful ones clean what actually causes the problem.
Three Brushes, Three Jobs: Each pack holds three brushes matched to different work. You pick the right bristle for the surface and stop forcing one brush to do everything.
Two Ends on Every Brush: Each brush is double ended, with a small end for precision cleaning. At the bench, you flip it over and get into the corner the wide end could not reach.
Nylon for Every Day: The nylon brush is the least aggressive and meets Mil. Spec. It works on virtually any surface, including wood.
Bite for Built-Up Fouling: Bronze bristles scrub out carbon, powder, and copper residue in hard-to-reach places. Depending on the pack, you also get a stiff Blue Nylon brush or a stainless steel brush. Metal brushes are for internal parts only.
The Habit of a Careful Owner: Fouling does not remove itself. People who own the right brushes tend to use them.
Clean the parts that matter, or trust luck.
