A short-barrel factory upper is a complete conversion, not a project. You lock it on and the sights are already there.
The barrel stays short. The lining and the free-float rail take the heat and the accessory load.
Chrome-Lined Tube: You fire 5.56 NATO through an 11.5-inch chrome-lined, button-rifled carbon steel barrel. Heat hits the lining, not the steel underneath.
Free-Float Rail: A 10.5-inch free-floating aluminum M-LOK handguard takes accessories. Your support hand does not load the barrel.
Known Twist: A 1:7 right-hand twist is cut into that tube. The bullet stays stable at this length.
Duty Carrier: A full-auto profile bolt carrier group is in the upper. The mass and geometry are the ones Colt specified.
MBUS Sights: Folding Magpul MBUS 3 adjustable sights come on the gun. You still have a picture when the optic is off.
Fit it to a compatible lower and run the short gun.
