Black Nose Dace
The Black Nose Dace is a classic American streamer pattern that imitates one of the most common and widely distributed minnows in eastern and midwestern trout streams. Its distinctive black lateral stripe over a white and red body creates a realistic, high-contrast baitfish profile that trout and bass recognize instinctively. Developed by Art Flick, this pattern has been a staple of streamer fishing for decades — and it continues to produce wherever dace and small minnows are part of the forage base.
