Black Gnat Wet
The Black Gnat Wet is a timeless soft hackle pattern that has been fooling trout in rivers and streams for generations. Its simple, dark profile imitates a drowned or emerging insect drifting just below the surface — exactly the kind of vulnerable, easy meal that trout can't pass up. Whether you're swinging it through a riffle on a traditional wet fly cast or dead-drifting it through a run, the Black Gnat Wet produces consistently across a wide range of conditions and water types.
