Antler King Turnips Seed

Deer eat this plot twice. Once from the top, and again from underneath.

The greens come first, and when those are gone the deer start digging.

Two Meals From One Planting: Deer graze the leafy tops through fall. When those are stripped, they dig the bulbs out of the dirt and keep returning to the same torn up patch.

Protein Where It Counts: This variety can run very high in protein. That matters in the months when deer are working to hold condition going into winter.

Plant It Alone or Mix It In: Turnips stand on their own as a hunt plot. They also fold into clover, chicory, or a cereal grain blend when you want more variety in the same ground.

Shallow and Simple: Seed goes a half inch deep or less. Broadcast it, drag it in, and let a rain do the rest of the work.

A July Decision You Hunt in November: Put it in the ground between July and September and it matures into a cold weather food source. Ideal pH runs 6.0 to 7.0.

Give them a reason to dig, and they will stay.
