The wrong cow note sends him the other way. Locating volume and quiet cow talk are not the same job.

An open double reed and a Tone Converter give you the loud locating cow and the quieter one that follows.

Matriarch Voice: The open double reed reproduces the deeper, louder tones of the matriarch cow. Bulls hear the cow that runs the herd.

Tone Converter: The Tone Converter turns locating calls into more subtle matriarch cow sounds. You keep talking when the bull stops short.

Locating Then Closing: Blow the loud cow to find him. Convert to subtle cow talk as he works closer.

One Mouth, Two Voices: You do not swap calls when the setup changes. The converter is already in your hand.

In The Timber: You sit the wallow at first light, lip the cow, and wait for the bugle that answers.

Speak like the lead cow, then wait.
