Bitch Creek — The Western Stonefly Nymph Classic

The Bitch Creek has been fooling large trout in freestone rivers for decades — and for good reason. Its big, meaty profile, two-tone body, and rubber legs create a stonefly nymph imitation that trout holding in fast, rocky water simply can't ignore. When fish are looking deep for a substantial meal, this is the fly that delivers.

Pattern Details

  • Style: Stonefly nymph attractor
  • Body: Two-tone — distinctive profile that stands out on the bottom
  • Legs: Rubber — lifelike movement in the current
  • Best water: Fast freestone runs, pocket water, deep riffles
  • Sizes available: 10, 12, 14

Dead-drift it along the bottom through deep runs, or use it as the anchor fly in a two-nymph rig to get smaller patterns down into the strike zone.
